| TRI-CITY SPEEDWAY SUFFERS FIRST RAINOUT OF 2008 SEASON

With cool temperatures, high winds and rain showers invading Tri-City Speedway by mid-morning, and heavier rain in the forecast later in the afternoon and evening, track officials elected to cancel the racing events scheduled for Mother’s Day May 11th at the venerable half-mile Venango County oval. With the rainout, the annual Mother’s Day Powder Puff Race featuring Pro Stocks and Thundercars was postponed. Track officials will determine if the race can be rescheduled for a future date. Those fans with tickets courtesy of Red Express will be able to use those tickets on Sunday May 18th. On that date, Tri-City Speedway celebrates Armed Forces Day as Fisher and Father Presents Five-Star Racing that features the Engles Trucking DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, 4 Your Car Connection FASTRAK Late Models, RPM Auto Sales/Sherry Shawgo Real Estate E Mods, E.F. Rogers Plumbing & Heating Pro Stocks and Klapec Auto Body Thundercars on Route 417 dirt track. Any adult with a valid military identification card will receive free grandstand admission in honor or the United States armed forces. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. Adult grandstand admission will be a family friendly $11.
