UFo Soars to Thunder Valley Raceway in 2010!

A 14th event has been added to the 2010 UFo Race Championship Tour Schedule. Thunder Valley Raceway in Central, City PA will host its first-ever UFo event and become the 8th supertrack of the unified alliance.

The "Highlander" will take place on Saturday night, May 22. The event will be highlighted by a 38 lap UFo Super Late Model championship race paying $2,500 to the winner. TVR is a wide, fast half-mile that has been under the management of Joe Padula and his family since they re-opened the track in 2006. They have brought a high-quality racing program to TVR and will turn up the power in 2010 with their first UFo Race Championship event.

Scott Rhodes of Somerset PA leads the Super Late Model champion list with 7 track championships in the 12 years of operation of TVR. Rhodes also leads the all-time feature win list at the track. Steve Everhart of Hollidaysburg, PA claimed the track championship in 2007. Scott Haus, Randy Kimmel, Robby Garlock and Scott Brode were the first four Super Late Model track champions.

TVR is located in the spectacular Laurel Highland area of Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The track's park-like environment blends well with its surroundings, with a backdrop of giant windmills in the mountains. The fan friendly facility offers several seating options including concrete grandstands, lawn chair seating and drive-in parking for tailgating.

The "Highlander" will feature a full UFo Pass-Maximum racing program including extended-lap heat races, consolations and the feature event. TVR's central location and key scheduling of this event will provide the stage for a strong field of UFo Super Late Models.

The UFo Race Championship is an alliance among tracks in the Pennova region (Western PA-Northern WV-Northeastern OH). Participating speedway present championship Super Late Model events throughout the season using common tech and procedure rules and offer a year-end point bonus for the top finishing drivers on the tour. Eligible tracks are within the 3 hour travel distance of the central point of Washington, PA.
