Hilltop Speedway News

Hilltop Speedway will present their first Pure Stock Showdown of the 2008 season this Friday, May 9th. The winner will take home $500 for their efforts, but it won't be easy. While this class has been the topic of many recent debates due to this years rule package, this is a chance for local Pure Stocks to shine. As a way to respect the weekly regulars that support the track, the 2008 rules will be strictly enforced for this event. All area Pure Stocks that are legal to compete are welcomed and encouraged to attend this show ,and compete on a level playing field. Bring your best stuff because Hilltop has some pretty stout weekly racers! Also on hand on Friday night will be the Super Late Models, Modifieds, Mini Stocks, and Mini Trucks.

On Saturday May 10th, Hilltop will present their first ever Flat Track Bike & Quad show. Judging from the practice held last year, this should be a great show. If you've never witnessed bike riders flying into the corners knee to knee, you HAVE to see this! These things really get around a race track and the riders, young and old, put on one hell of a show. Be there!

Let us not forget that until this year the cars that you excluded with your new rules package were also " weekly regulars that supported Hilltop Speedway " and doing so brought along there own fan base and supporters . Over the years track owners have changed rules to suit different cars and classes and all I can say is that its your track to run it as you see fit.The only thing Im asking is that by your "even playing field" comment I hope your not saying that all the former weekly regulars that are now excluded were cheating?I personally know of five cars that dont fit the new rules because they dont have the stock firewall in place and that is in no way any kind of speed advantage.Thank you...
