FUEL Set To Allow Limited Late Model Competitors In 2016

After thorough research and consideration, series officials are pleased to announce that steel block limited late model engines will be eligible for FUEL Racing Series competition in 2016. Series officials carefully observed numerous events this past season where CT525 and steelhead limited late model powered cars raced together intensely and competitively. While the 2016 rulebook is still being reviewed and finalized, tracks and fans in the southeast can look forward to one of the most exciting years in regional dirt late model history in 2016.

“FUEL has been blessed with great support and success over the past 2 seasons”, stated Series Director Jason Atkins. “We have grown as a series and we have learned that the CT525 engine has a bright future in dirt late model racing. While our commitment to the CT525 engine is as strong as ever, we realize the value that allowing steel block limited late models brings to our track partners. Steel block limited late models and CT525 engines have competed with each other in several weekly and high profile regional events this season. Based on those observations and with our continued commitment to delivering maximum value to our tracks, we feel this is a positive direction for FUEL heading into 2016.”

Stay tuned for more details throughout the off season. As we prepare for the 2015 Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis, we would like to take this time to thank every track, driver, and marketing partner for their continued support. We look forward to a competitive and exciting 2016 season!
