Carnesville, GA – After five races over the past four weeks, the FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series will be on hiatus until Labor Day Weekend for the East Coast Rumble. The three day mini-tour will kick off Friday, September 1st at 311 Speedway in Pine Hall, NC with a $2,000 to win event. Teams and officials will make the haul to Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV for the $5,000 to win event that is part of the Hillbilly 50 on September 2nd. The final stop is on September 3rd for a $3,000 to win race at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, VA.
Each of the East Coast Rumble races will count as two races towards any Weekly FASTRAK driver’s total to qualify for the FASTRAK World Challenge at Virginia Motor Speedway on September 15th. The World Challenge is a FASTRAK members only event, requiring that members have competed in at least ten FASTRAK races in 2017, weekly or touring.
The stop at 311 Speedway will be the third in 2017 for the FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series. Steve Blackburn won the first visit on May 26th, which was the first leg of the FASTRAK Triple Crown. On August 4th, Benji Hicks took home the win. FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series drivers will compete for $2,000 to win in the first race of the East Coast Rumble.
September 2nd will see the FASTRAK Pro Late Model series in action at Tyler County Speedway for the first and only visit of the 2017 season. The $5,000 to win race is part of the Hillbilly 50, which precedes Tyler County’s Hillbilly 100.
The East Coast Rumble will wrap up at Wythe Raceway on September 3rd. The final stop of the mini-series will pay $3,000 to win and will see the East Coast Rumble Champion awarded a Championship Belt on the frontstretch. The event is the second stop at Wythe Raceway for the FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series, as Tyler Bare was victorious in the Series’ first visit on July 29th.
Benji Hicks has built a 19 point lead over Matthew Nance in the FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series standings. The battle for second has Cla Knight just 4 points behind Nance. Jensen Ford currently sits in fourth, with Ron Parker rounding out the top five.
