PostSubject: FASTRAK World Challenge and Championship coming up at Virginia Motor Speedway   Wed Aug 16, 2017 11:45 am

Carnesville, GA – The FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series and Virginia Motor Speedway are preparing for the richest weekend in all of Pro Late Model racing. The FASTRAK World Championship weekend will come to the half mile track located at 4426 Tidewater Trail, Jamaica, VA on September 15th and 16th. The weekend begins with Friday night’s FASTRAK World Challenge which is for FASTRAK members only, who have competed in at least ten race events in the 2017 season. The event concludes with the $20,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship, open to all teams, on Saturday night.

September 15th’s FASTRAK World Challenge is a $5,000 to win, 40-lap race for FASTRAK members only. Members must have competed in ten races before the cutoff, which is Labor Day, September 4th. The race will pay $300 to start and all drivers not qualifying for the feature will receive $50. Those who are trying to reach the ten race requirement can pick up two races toward the ten at each of the East Coast Rumble races. It must be noted that this not a double points weekend, only counting as two races toward the ten race requirement. These races are September 1st at 311 Speedway, September 2nd at Tyler County Speedway and September 3rd at Wythe Raceway. FASTRAK officials made the decision to ease concerns from members who were faced with numerous rain-outs throughout the 2017 season.

The following night, September 16th is the FASTRAK World Championship. The World Championship is the richest single day in Pro Late Model racing, paying $20,000 to the winner of the 60 lap feature. The feature pays $500 to start and all drivers not qualifying for the feature will receive $150. The race is open to any Pro Late Model teams and all Series seals are legal for the event. However, drivers with the NeSmith engine package with aftermarket parts must add 50 pounds to their cars, for a total weight of 2400 pounds. The rain date for the FASTRAK World Championship is Sunday, September 17th.

All teams must run FASTRAK tires on all four corners throughout the weekend. The FT200 cannot be grooved or siped. The harder FT400 can be grooved and siped. Tires will be available at Virginia Motor Speedway.

Entry fee for drivers is $125 per night with pit passes being $40 for a two day or Saturday-only pass. Transponders and Raceceivers are mandatory. Transponders can be rented for $15. Teams can save up to $90 for the entire weekend, with reduced entry fee and pit passes, by preregistering by calling the FASTRAK corporate office at 678-935-7304 ext 2.

Gates will open at 8am both days with sign in beginning at 2pm. Drivers’ meeting is scheduled for 5pm both days. Hot Laps are scheduled for 6pm on both days. On Friday, FASTRAK qualifying is slated to begin at 8pm with heat races to begin at 9pm. The FASTRAK World Challenge will be the last feature of Friday night. Drivers who enter for Saturday only will get at least one practice session on Friday night, more if time allows. FASTRAK qualifying is slated for 7:30pm on Saturday night, with heat races scheduled to take the track at 8pm. The FASTRAK World Championship is the final feature of Saturday night’s program.
